On June 26, the 2024 Annual Meeting of Sustainable Markets Initiative's China Council was held in Beijing. Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Vice Chairman of China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) and Chairman of Sustainable Markets Initiative's China Council, attended and addressed the meeting.

Yu Jianlong stated that over the past year, the Council has taken the responsibility of organizing and leading China's business community to deeply engage in global economic governance. It has proactively formulated plans and fully fostered connections, yielding positive outcomes. It is hoped that the Council will continue to raise its political stance, serve the overall diplomatic situation, fulfill its duties and responsibilities effectively, and reach more practical results in the upcoming stage of its work, while deepening exchanges and cooperation with the Sustainable Markets Initiative Council.

During the meeting, the attendees listened to the 2023-2024 annual report on the work of the Council and voted to approve Tianqi Lithium’s application to join the Council. 16 representatives of the Council delivered speeches in turn, exchanged views, and made suggestions for the next work of Council.
